How to Build a Go Cart Frame

Needed Tools and Materials

To build a go cart frame, you will need the following things: chalk, tape measure, tube notcher, and a welding tool. Other things you’ll need to have around would include a pipe bender, hammer, chop saw, angle iron, and filter material.

Get the Measurements

To obtain the customized length and width of the frame, sit on a clean floor and visualize yourself inside a go cart. Use your chalk to sketch the needed dimensions of your intended frame according to your body size and shape. Make sure that there is enough comfortable leg room and space for your body to maneuver. Remember that the standard frame width as you build a go cart frame is two-thirds the wheelbase.

Chopping the Metal Parts
